Ghost Phone vs Flip Phone? ¶

I was trying to learn if there is any advantage to your phones over a ruggedized flip phone, concerning privacy. I've unlearned the smart phone habit.
Thoughts?

Key piece to answering this question is to understand that whomever owns the operating system of your phone in all reality owns the phone as they can see everything going on within the device no matter what you do. With this in mind, unfortunately, all of the flip phones on the market are running operating systems that are Google Android or Google/CCP (KaiOS) owned/managed. We have searched far and wide and can not find any that are running open source operating systems or independent OS's not owned by BigTech. If you find one, please let us know ASAP!
I recommend watching the digital privacy bootcamp video I have up at https://mark37.com/blog/bigtech-alternatives-resources/ which will help de-mystify a lot of what I'm talking about above.
From there it's up to you to make a decision as to where you'd like to start your journey toward regaining your digital privacy and freedom. It's not much different than making the decision to start gardening and growing your own food... at some point you've got to start somewhere, but the process is a journey that will take some time. Thankfully our team is here to support you along the way and provide tools/resources and a community that can help make the process painless... and hopefully fun!
Hopefully this added some clarity.
Blessings,
Sean
