Thoughts on Patriot Mobile? ¶

Short version is that Patriot Mobile is a solid option. We've been trying to get in touch with their leadership for obvious reasons (we've sent them likely 50+ customers over the past year) with no luck for over a year now so if you DO talk to them, encourage them to get in touch!!!
Long version is that there are only 3 major telecom providers in the US:
AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
Everyone else, to include Patriot Mobile, is a "MVNO" Mobile Virtual Network Operator... meaning they do not own any physical network infrastructure but resell one, two or all three of the major providers.
We HIGHLY recommend working with a MVNO as:
1) It adds a layer of bureaucracy between you and the major providers.
2) MVNO's not owned by the big three (which some are, such as US Cellular, Cricket, etc.) do not need to tell the carrier WHO is using what number on their network, only that they are using a specific phone number on their network.
The key is working with a MVNO NOT OWNED in part or whole by one of the big three.
The ideal scenario is to find a MVNO with solid coverage in your region that is not owned by one of the major carriers and has a store you can walk into to pre-pay for services without having to provide your name or any identifiable information. Some T-mobile resellers allow for this, but as there are so many MVNO's (literally 100's) we don't have the time or resources to track them all and thus customers are encouraged to do their own research to this extent.
