PureTalk will work but you may have to manually enter the APN settings into the device for MMS and data functionality as they may not auto populate by installing the SIM card.
Pure Talk APN Settings Instructions:
If you use PureTalk as your cell carrier you may find your data does not work. You can make and receive phone calls but your MMS messages and data does not work.To fix this you will need to enter some carrier information into your phone. This document provides the instructions to do this.
After you put your sim card in the phone you will need to enter some settings in order for your data to work.
Go to your phone settings, find Network & internet, then go to internet, open the gear icon to right side of your carrier name, should be Pure Talk, then at the very bottom open Access Point Names, then open the + sign on the top right.
You will then need to fill in the following fields with the following information.
Needs to be entered exactly.
Enter ONLY the following information: The fields that are empty must remain empty
Name: Pure Talk
APN: RESELLER (note: must be all CAPS)
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net (lowercase and no spaces)
MMS: Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net (lowercase and no spaces)
MMS: Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type:
APN: Type: default, mms, supl (lowercase and no spaces)
APN: protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN: roaming protocol:IPv4/IPv6
Press the 3 dots at the top right, press save, select Pure TalkUSA by pressing the circle next to it and restart your phone. You should now have MMS and data service.
If the data still does not work after this double check that the information is entered exactly. There can be NO misspellings and it is case sensitive. If it is still not working then it may be necessary to contact PureTalk and give them the IMEI number of their phone and ask for updated APN settings. If PureTalk wants to know what kind of phone it is tell them a Pixel or Andriod phone. DO NOT tell them it is a deGoogled phone or a GrapheneOS phone. It will confuse them and they will probably tell you that they do support that kind of phone.
The IMEI number can be found under Settings, scroll to the bottom and select About phone, then find your IMEI number.
Attached is a document with instructions on how to do this.
